Improved 30-40th level scaling for bard song.

This scaling might be a bit over the top but at least it's something to think about, could be altered. 39th level and 40th level bards get a really ridiculous song but those are probably some really gimped builds. Just opens up some more viable pathways.


33th Level bard + 105 perform: song ac 7, 20 skills, 3 fort, 3 reflex 4 will 3 ab \ ac curse -4, -10 skills, fort -3, -3 reflex -3 will -3ab
TempHP/Curse Damage = 55

36th Level bard + 110 perform: song ac 7, 22 skills, 3 fort, 3 reflex 4 will 3 ab \ ac curse -4, -11 skills, fort -3, -3 reflex -3 will -3ab
TempHP/Curse Damage = 60

37th Level bard + 115 perform: song ac 8, 24 skills, 4 fort, 4 reflex 4 will 3 ab \ ac curse -4 -12 skills, fort -3, -3 reflex -4 will -3ab
TempHP/Curse Damage = 65

38th Level bard + 120 perform: song ac 8, 26 skills, 4 fort, 4 reflex 4 will 3 ab \ ac curse -4, -13 skills, fort -4, -4 reflex -4 will -3ab
TempHP/Curse Damage = 70

39th Level bard + 125 perform: song ac 9, 28 skills, 4 fort, 4 reflex 5 will 4 ab \ ac curse -5, -14 skills, fort -4, -4 reflex -5 will -4ab
TempHP/Curse Damage = 80

40th Level bard + 127 perform: song ac 10, 30 skills, 5 fort, 5 reflex 6 will 5 ab \ ac curse -5, -15 skills, fort -5, -5 reflex -5 will -5ab
TempHP/Curse Damage = 90

It's just so dicey.... Really need a way to at least strip a bard song for this to not be a game changer. Because even if the bard just falls on it's face and dies... It's team is basically permasupped up. Which largely removes all weaknesses from most builds. Maybe if the bards death removes all songs from it... Hmmmmm

Doesn't that usually happen though? If a bard dies and then rests their song goes away from their team, if they wanna come back to help that is.

Perhaps it does on other servers, but this hasn't been the case on BadLands.

bad idea, everywhere wheres get empowered, they just overtake PVP like mad soon as one team has one. I think bards are still a bit OP here. Making them even stronger isn't such a great idea. Specially this, being a massive game changer.

And looking at like what you want, no way in hell. 40 bard could just sit in PoB, buff team, and either relog, or like you, have 2 computers. Bad bad bad idea. a bard can still be VERY viable as a 36/3XX/1XX pr 38/1xx/1xx. No way in hell should this be implemented.

well, first of all you aren't allowed to base buff like that. Unless you're a player down.

I think we should make it so when a bard dies, then rests their song goes away from their team. It's a bit odd that it doesn't already, for some reason I thought that it did and had assumed that. Perhaps it was on another server.

I don't see the issue in opening up more builds and reasons to take bard post level 30. The only thing I do have a possible dilemma with is the actual bard song scaling itself, it might be too powerful I don't know. This is something that dex sort've did but instead they amplified bards with a shield if you were above level 31. Cormyr did it like what I'm proposing, they just scaled bard song into the latter levels of epic levels. Sinfar has done the same.

That's a lot of perform. I have a hard enough time getting to 80 on 26 4 10.

I just don't agree with that strong of curse and AC increases, along with EVEN more skills/saves. A 36/3/1 or 38/1/1 would completely eliminate any builds weakness. Plus I dont see how it'd be hard to make a 40 survival bard with IE and massive heal kit spam. I vote nononono x1000. Other classes need tended to long before bards even considered. One class shouldn't be a complete game changer, hence why mages lost some power.

I wouldn't mind going the opposite route - sub 30s bard song should get a scaling nerf!

It would be nice if silenced/deafed made a player immune to song and curse as well.

bards are fine, they dont need buff
