 Toolset Questions

PostSubject: Toolset Questions   Mon Feb 20, 2017 9:15 pm

How do you get lava in a place where you wouldn't normally be able to get lava. The only lava supporting toolset I know of is 'dungeon and dungeon2', but it'd be nice to have that shit for like caverns and desert tilesets as well.

I recall searching without any luck to try import unique tiles from other maps into map sets I was working on. Would be nice to know if this is possible to create more variety in map designs.

Nwn generates tiles as 10x10 sections. So you just add that tile to a specific map of your choice and players can see it provided they have that tile.

There isn't exactly a quick way to do it, you have to go into the .tlc(.tic, etc) files and change the count of the number of tiles and then copy/paste a specific file from one map into another map.

The much faster way of using lava is to just use the visual effect from script magic number 349 "SCENE_LAVA".

You could probably still find a vfx viewer if you wanted a quick way to see all of them

An important thing to remember with scene effects though is that removing them doesn't always work so you usually have to destroy the object.

Basically if you're going to have "moving lava" that chases players you'll need to destroy them when they stop.
