 CEP or something like it

Would you like to have CEP for badlands so that we can have extra content, or something like CEP perhaps
Yes, custom content is cool and will allow for more building options on areas.

I'd like to possibly try out CEP for building, there's a lot of options in terms of custom content.. I know for fact there's loads more placeables and monsters, and maybe vfxs'. It would make the process of building way more involved and would likely yield much more interesting content.

CEP is cool and all, just remember, most of the pathfinding in nwn is done using identifiers in placemat that most custom areas(which while looking nice) were too lazy to set. Thus area wise this may be a detrimental idea. Otherwise it's largely irrelevant if people don't mind a large download.

I like the idea of more content, but I feel that having an extra download may be seen as another barrier for new players to begin playing.

people who dont download it can still login and play etc
(perhaps see a vanilla version of whatever)

People who do download can enjoy brand new areas and/or improved existing areas


If this is not possible, then consider adding new dungeons and keeps with CEP, but make them only accessible to those who have the downloads to make it work. (ie. dont make any existing area inaccessible to vanilla diamond)

For safety concerns, BioWare gave no method to know if the player has downloaded the files required or not(as that could be used to hack). However it would be simple enough to make any custom areas only be traversable via a conversation screen which warns them "THIS MAP WILL INFINITELY CRASH YOU UNTIL RESET IF YOU DO HAVE THE FILE FOR IT FROM THE FORUMS".

lel, can we do this then? Very Happy wont force people to download stuff if they really don't want to.. and they can still log onto the mod and view everything else normally. I'm for doing the above.

Sure just use the hakpak utility in your nwn/utils folder to remove anything you want to use.. Pop it into your override folder, create content, then post a link on forums for where to get the files for it(google or windows drive works great for this).

The only if factor is whether you need the .TLK, depends if there is custom STRREF. The server will need the files too, but that's no issue.
